Acetic acid is soluble in water, alcohols, and ethers and is widely used in man-made fibers, rubber, plastics, agriculture, herbicides, leather, organic salts, dyes and textiles.
Produces vinyl acetate using ethylene and acetic acid.
Works as a solvent in the production of pure terephthalic acid.
Esterifies the acetic acid and n-butyl alcohol.
Functions as the pH regulator in dyeing and finishing.
